A Covid informed herb walk, we are limiting to 10 people. Participants must be willing to respect social distancing guidelines. Bring a mask to wear if you would like.
This is a first for us. We're taking the concept of Apothecary Yoga (featured on NPR's Lake Effect) which we had in our shop, and converting it into an herb walk and movement experience. This will be a beginner style movement oriented lesson that ties in with the plants that we explore as well.
This herb walk is hosted by community herbalist Kyle Denton of Tippecanoe Herbs and Molly Sommerhalder of Swan in the Lotus Yoga and Wellness. Herb walks are a way to re-discover the wild places tucked within the city, strolling and gathering fresh air as we discuss the virtues of the medicinal plants through folklore, botany, preparations of medicine making, and more. As we incorporate movement and yoga into these walks, the intention is to create a visceral and embodied lesson.
Once you register you will receive a confirmation email. Shortly afterwards, Kyle will send an email with directions on where exactly to meet.
This herb walk will occur rain or shine. Other considerations: bringing enough water, sunscreen, a mat for yoga.
